My opinion about this book is very similar to the first one Once again it presents the material in a rather original fashion which makes it interesting for who already knows what is going on and confusing for a beginnerHowever this book is balanced in my opinion The original chapters were in fact on extra material like electricity in atmosphere the principle of least action or curved spacetime which are the ones that a deep understanding is less relevant and originality make them much interesting And the core chapters use standard methods that makes everything clearer to the beginner Therefore I believe it works better for the actual intended audience than the first one but it doesn't loose it's uniue touchA problem that continues is the fact that some of his notationideas are outdated for example he does not distinguish between covariant and contravariant indices and also states that some issues with magnetic materials are unresolved when in fact we do know the answer to that now But I feel those are minor issuesOverall I'd say 45 for both a beginner and someone who already knows the material covered

If someone asks me to recommend some literature relating to science which is at the same time interesting and hardcore I will recommend these Feynman lectures and ED uantum Electro Dynamics right off This a great reading and highly recommended if you want yourself to get interested in uantum physics at a whole new levelHere are video lectures by none other than Mr Richard Feynman himselfhttpvegaorgukvideosubseries8

I neither read the book nor do I have enough knowledge to understand the recently published article called Surprises of the Faraday Cage by Lloyd N Trefethen but it seems that even a genius like Feynman makes mistakes sometimes in his field of work And that’s sort of comforting

  4. John Orman John Orman says:

Used these classic texts as a freshman physics major at New Mexico Tech Very challenging books but provide insights into the world of physics and the workings of the great mind of Richard Feynman

reason I rate 5 star is because it only has 5 star

mind blowing brain washer Math books is not able to make multi calculus clear enough that i turn into this book and i found the most striking book i've ever read

Feynman really focuses on magnetism and how matter has its own magnetic field and electricity It also talks about how magnetism is always present throughout the universe and about how it affects matter Feynman also has multiple experiments in which the concepts that are being taught were proven The book also has some practice uestions within the lecture so that the reader can practice their new knowledge 1 thing I didn't like about this is that there weren't any of his video lectures on the online textbook which made it hard to understand because he often gave a demonstration of a property he was talking about in a section and Caltech has a copy of all these videos however they do not post hyperlinks throughout the textbook so that we can understand the concept as we read 1 thing I did like about this book is that it is full of content what I mean by that is that there isn't a single sentence throughout the entire book that doesn't give information or knowledge about physics or the concept at hand The book is so rich with knowledge that it simply never makes you stop learning about physics Despite some of it's flaws Feynman lectures volumn 2 is great for those who want to get ahead and learn advanced physics and understand about magnetism electricity currents etc

This is an excellent set of physics lectures Feynman was very talented at right to heart of the matter and making everything seem obvious

  9. Ravi Ravi says:

Still to start on this one

  10. Terry Terry says:

Hard to gain adeuate comprehension but that's not Mr Feynman's fault Complex topic better understood by facile young brains
