    This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here I started reading this book a long time ago Probably 2.5 or 2 years ago I stopped at about 40% I picked it up again today Hoping to finish reading it this time So that I can put it away and have some space in my bookshelf Although it seems outdated but it has some useful, interesting, and funny stuff information content So far good read.Okay so as I finished reading, I went back and reread some of the letter email sample examples from the beginning Some of it was hilarious L I started reading this book a long time ago Probably 2.5 or 2 years ago I stopped at about 40% I picked it up again today Hoping to finish reading it this time So that I can put it away and have some space in my bookshelf Although it seems outdated but it has some useful, interesting, and funny stuff information content So far good read.Okay so as I finished reading, I went back and reread some of the letter email sample examples from the beginning Some of it was hilarious Look at this part of an email, for instance, Just wanted to let you know that you d better forget about the randomIt s a dumb idea that will never work 14 , and or vs there is some confusion about the new15 This book really shows you how to be mature and serious about the workplace communication However, it s really a beginner s guide Freshmen, college students, recent graduates, or anyone entering the workforce can benefit from this book It s somewhat old fashioned as it s almost a decade old In the beginning it tells you proper ways of emailing and the To , From , and Subject line I laughed at this one Also, in the Presentation section, it talks about PowerPoint and Microsoft Word and all the different effects and features they offer Although, everyone these days knows and works very well with both the PowerPoint and the Word, but it s still relevant Despite many other fancier forms of presentation such as Prezi etc., video digital storytelling, PowerPoint is still most commonly used A wide range of Web applications such as google slide, Canva, Zoho Show, Apple key note, and others have taken place of the original PowerPoint software I still prefer PowerPoint Some information in this book is really useful such as all the examples about how to write an effective report, a proposal, a business letter, and how to write good instructions Additionally, it emphasizes on the importance of crediting and proper sourcing when writing not only research papers for school, but always such as in a speech, or letter, or whatever kind of writing of communication you re engaging in where you re using another person s ideas or words.Although I know now and learned how to cite sources when I was in college, this book was helpful in reinforcing that knowledge and learningabout how to cite quotes properly etc I also greatly benefited from reading this book mainly because I am a former English Language Learner and this book greatly emphasizes grammar and all accepted appropriate communication It also has good sentence shortening examples that can be helpful when writing to avoid unnecessary information and being direct and to the point.Great read Fun reading, good useful information Highly Recommended
